Rich Parlontieri/Speedemissions

Speedemissions is a 14-year old company that was among the first to develop and build the emission-test-only store in Atlanta. They’ve grown to 43 location in four major cities: Atlanta, Houston, St. Louis and Salt Lake City. In 2010, they developed CARbonga, the first iPhone app for consumers to diagnose their own vehicles for emission problems and more. That app was followed up with CARbonga-SRI, a revolutionary iPhone app that provides details about a car’s safety recall status and technical services bulletins. Most recently, they have been piloting an emissions repair model that has lead to re-branding the company with two new brands: Expresso Emissions and Expresso Car Care Café. The names, logo design and store were just introduced in mid- January. In addition, they just signed a joint venture, Retail Vehicle Registration, to provide the consumer with an easy way to renew their vehicle registration without the hassle of a DMV.

Charles Hall/Hyperbaric Physicians of Georgia

Hyperbaric Physicians of Georgia is a medical practice focused on resolving wounds that are not healing with basic care. The physicians in their group are certified in wound healing and hyperbaric medicine. Each of their four locations (Whitcher Street Medical Office Building attached to Kennestone Hospital; St. Joseph Hospital lower level; Northside Forsyth Hospital campus, Bldg 1505; and Lithonia near Hillandale Hospital) are UHMS Accredited hyperbaric medicine centers. With hyperbaric medicine and a full armament of evidence-based wound resolution products, their physicians are able to heal (or at a minimum, significantly improve) the majority of wounds, thermal injuries and late effects of radiation presented to them. In most cases a physician referral is not necessary to be seen by one of their doctors for evaluation (depending on insurance requirements). Most insurance and Medicare/Medicaid is accepted.

Jess Parsons White/Open Hand/Good Measure Meals

Good Measure Meals is the social enterprise for the nonprofit Open Hand/Atlanta. Good Measure Meals is a fresh, local portion and calorie-controlled meal plan designed to help with weight, disease and time management. 100% of the net proceeds from GMM go to Open Hand to support its mission of providing healthy meals and nutrition education programs at no cost to the underserved and chronically ill in the communities.

Vanessa Anderson/Covenant Christian Ministries Academy

Covenant Christian Ministries Academy, a ministry of Covenant Christian Ministries Church, is a fully accredited school (ACSI and SACS CASI) established in 1994 which provides educational services to students both foreign (SEVIS approved) and domestic. Excellent learning opportunities are available at CCMA! Class sizes are moderate to allow individual needs to be addressed. Their academic training, which includes advanced placement and honor’s classes, has produced notable achievements. Student accomplishments include Zell Miller scholarship recipients; perfect scores on advanced placement exams; national winners in history, spelling, geography and math; and participants in the People to People Ambassador Program to Harvard in Cambridge, MA. All students K5 – 12 are required to take Spanish each year with the goal of developing spoken and auditory proficiency. Latin instruction begins in 3rd grade for their elementary students providing them with additional tools to decipher new vocabulary as formal phonics instruction ends.

Various activities are available to students in addition to the academic rigor – basketball, volleyball, cheerleading, chorus, yearbook, spelling bee, etc. Their basketball program produces true student-athletes, several recruited to NCAA Division I colleges. As seen in the mission statement, a definitive purpose for the school’s existence is outlined:

The mission of Covenant Christian Ministries Academy is to prioritize the wisdom of God first and include Him in every aspect of our lives as we provide a quality academic program, equipping students for higher learning and guiding them to a productive life in society.
