Wendy Bigham/Special Olympics Georgia
Special Olympics Georgia (SOGA) is the first and still the only organization to offer sports training and competition to children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Special Olympics provides year-round sports training and competition to children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy, and participate in the sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community. There are 26,702 athletes in Georgia, which is the largest Special Olympics state program in the country. 26 sports are offered – even kayaking and equestrian. Five state games are held.

I enjoyed listening to the interview. John and Kirk are a wonderful addition to our A.G. Rhodes Family. I am the Activity Director for our Atlanta facility. The residents along with the staff enjoy the music and horticulture therapy provided by John and Kirk weekly. They are bringing back memories for the residents and awakening new interests.
